Verysell Icontri develops an automated asset management and capital development system for FSUE Russian Post

Within the framework of a project for the federal/state unitary enterprise, Russian Post,” Verysell Icontri specialists will create an information system for asset management and capital development.

Russian Post is a large enterprise with a division-based structure of independent affiliates spanning the entire Russian territory. The assets, falling under the jurisdiction of Postal network of the Russian Federation, are numerous and diversified. Given that fact, maintaining control of assets represents a complex and unique challenge. The information system designated to address this challenge must support the function of both regulating and providing oversight in various areas, including: asset security, appropriate usage, and the development and re-construction of the system of assets. Verysell Icontri, having developed a unique technology solution ®icon3 which possesses the functionality to successfully meet the criteria of this challenge, was called upon to implement the project.

Within the framework of the project, planning has begun to develop an information system, comprised of a recording and management sub-system.  The functionality of an asset recording sub-system includes the ability to conduct inventory management, monitor the flow of assets, and provide descriptions of specifications for assets. This sub-system supports a single registry of federal assets, in addition to serving as an information base for continual oversight. The registry of assets is comprised of two units: repository of accounting records, and management database. The repository of accounting records will contain documentation which can be used for the resolution of legal issues.  The management database contains data processed from documents and then transformed into a format that will guarantee both accuracy and ease in supporting the process of asset management.

From the information contained in the registry, the management sub-system will support the primary functions of asset management activity, such as planning, organization and control. At this stage, recorded assets will become readily accessible for oversight.  This sub-system is capable of supporting asset security, management of asset usage, in addition to providing solutions to the challenge of development and re-construction of the entire system of assets.

Completion of the project has been scheduled for the end of 2008.  Implementation of an automated system will guarantee effectiveness in asset management for the Russian Post. It will also provide a foundation for augmenting the system of assets, for strategic and operational planning, and will result in substantially increasing the enterprise’s investment attractiveness.
